I’ve been riding dual sport in the Texas hill country for more than a dozen years and during that time I’ve seen some really fine dirt roads get paved. CR 310 in Llano County is one of them. Recently the county has chip sealed a few miles and another section of hill country dirt riding has disappeared forever. Don’t get me wrong, the paved section is plenty fun to ride and I understand the residents who live along a dirt road wanting their road to be pavement and not dirt. But I selfishly want more dirt, not less. I guess the silver lining is that the county didn’t pave all of CR310. There is still a significant dirt section remaining so I’m going to keep on riding it as often as I can before its all gone.
