Usually by mid-June the hill country is brown, not green. The spring rains having long passed and with the temperature increasing daily, the natural grasses go dormant and turn brown as a defensive measure against the heat and dry conditions. But not this June. This year, 2016, everything is still a beautiful shade of green thanks to the mild temperatures and all the rain we’ve had for the past year. It makes riding the hill country even more enjoyable than usual.
