The XR650L stock seat is pretty good for a stock seat. That’s faint praise though – most stock seats just flat out suck. I couldn’t sit on the stock DRZ seat for more than about 30 minutes and my Husky TE610 seat wasn’t any better. The XR seat is much more comfortable than either of those two bikes but it’s still not anywhere near good enough for me to ride all day long on without significant discomfort. I’ve been really pleased with the Seat Concepts seat on my DRZ so I thought I would give it a try on my Big Red Pig. My buddy JT did the install for me (Thanks JT!).
Seat Concepts send you some foam and a new seat cover to install on your stock seat pan. The seat cover is quality material plus I really like the red sides /black top seat cover they have for the XR650L. I think it looks better than the solid black one I have on the DRZ and the red matches the XRL perfectly, in my opinion. Here’s the link to my report and more pics.
