This is the 2017 Husqvarna 701 Enduro. At 319 lbs (without fuel) and 74 horsepower, its power to weight ratio of 1:4.32 (1 horsepower for every 4.32 lbs) is superior to anything else in the dual sport class (street legal, off pavement capable motorcycles weighing between 300-400 lbs). For example, the Honda XR650L’s power to weight ratio is 1:10.94 and the Suzuki DRZ-400S comes in at 1:10.
So what do all those numbers actually mean in terms of real life performance? It means the 701 Enduro is fast. Really fast. And not just fast for a dual sport – actually fast.
It’s so much faster than any other dual sport class of bike I’ve ever owned that I have dubbed it the Rocket.
