A mere half mile from pavement we encountered a locked gate. This was a public road but one of the locals had placed a lock on this gate – probably due to the wash out we had encountered earlier. With rain looming overhead, we searched for a way around but one could not be found. Then JT figured out that there was just enough slack in the wire gate to lay it down and ride over it. Once past, we quickly reached pavement and rode south, mostly avoiding the rain.
While this is a fine road, it’s not one I recommend due to the locked gate. However, the map shows an alternate road to the north that bypasses this gate. Looks like I’ve got some more exploring to do the next time I’m in the area. 🙂
