Terra-izing Mexico
With all the modifications and upgrades of my Husqvarna TR650 Terra completed (well…completed for now – I always think of more things that I really need to do to my bikes…) it was time for her first trip to Mexico. It was time to Terra-ize Mexico, if you will.
She and I (and 45 other riders) completed a 7 day, 1500 mile dual sport ride to to the Sierra Gorda mountains around the city of Jalpan, in the state of Queretaro, Mexico April 2016. Of course I had to take lots of pictures of her during the trip. Here she is on the mountain roads just west of Ciudad Victoria.
This was my first long trip on the Terra and, overall, I found it to be a superb dual sport adventure bike. Other than some fueling issues when the temps climb above 90 degrees (the fuel injection system on the bike is not mapped correctly for hot weather riding) the bike was wonderful. If I can solve the hot weather fueling issue, and I believe I can, then I won’t have any significant dissatisfaction with the Terra.
