This is one of my favorite adventure pictures. Milton and I were exploring a new route in Mexico and, as is typical for us, were having a difficult time locating a “road” shown on our (less than accurate) Mexico map. After several dead-ends we finally ended up riding alongside a cattle fence for about 1/2 mile till we finally located the road in the picture below. “Surely this must be the road we were looking for”, we thought to ourselves. Luckily, a few miles later we encountered two Vaqueros. As Milton was asking them where this road led to I grabbed this shot. I like the juxtaposition – modern steel horse meets real horse. Or, if you prefer, new technology meeting old technology. Either way, in my view it’s a good representation of our experiences riding our bikes in Mexico.
